Basketball at the ARC
Last night, I went down to the ARC to get some cardio. I decided instead of boring myself to death on a treadmill, I'd go play some basketball on the courts. I was surprised to see that there was that many people down there using the courts. By the time I had played for two and a half hours, I was dead tired. I lifted earlier that day and then played basetball, so I'd say I got my physical activity for that day!

PSAHPERD Feedback
For everyone that has been following my blog, this is my first post since I went to the PSAHPERD Convention. It really was a blast! Not only did I attend very informative sessions like Survivor 101 and Badminton, but I also got to know everyone a little better as well. I was very proud to wear the color green when I saw how respected Slippery Rock was. We had by far the most people as well. Let's keep up the good reputation, and I hope everyone that didn't get to go will attend next year.

PSAHPERD Convention
Today is a big day for me. I will be packing right after my Tech PETE class for the PSAHPERD convention. I'm going on the trip, along with many other students, to this great event. It is held is Seven Springs, which is also a skiing resort.
While there, I will be attending sessions at the convention all weekend from Friday until Saturday. I will be up bright and early to get the most out of this opportunity to broaden my knowledge in physical education. I also can see this experience to be beneficial in networking with other professionals from different schools around the state.
Not only will I be attending this event, but I will also be helping to lead an activity session created by the FIT Club at the convention. This will increase my experience in leading an activity, especially in a large group like that.
I'm really looking forward to this opportunity of going to the PSAHPERD convention. This will help me as a professional, while still having some opportunities to have fun and get to know my fellow peers.

Rock Climbing
So, today was a pretty interesting day. For my Outdoor Pursuits class, we headed down the the ARC to do some rock climbing on the indoor wall. We had been spending the last several weeks preparing for this by learning how to tie nots, belay, back up the belayer, and the responsibilities of the actual climber. It all paid off today. It was an enlightening experience finally getting to belay and climb for real instead of just tying the rope onto a pull-up bar in the wrestling room of the Fieldhouse.
This was my first time indoor rock climbing, so I was really determined to tackle this wall. I ended up making it the whole way to the top! I felt a great sense of accomplishment after reaching the top. It's one of those feelings where you know you're going to want to do the activity form now on. I can't wait until I get strapped into another harness to tackle that wall again.
